Fingerprint-based Background Checks for School Contractors
January 6th, 2012 by ArizonaLivescan
Public and/or Charter School Contractor, Subcontractor of Vendor and their Employees must have Fingerprint Clearance Cards per ARS 15-512. If your organization falls under any Arizona Revised Statute requiring a Fingerprint Clearance Card then Arizona Livescan is your first step in the process. The Fingerprint Clearance Card background check process not only involves a state-level background check, but a federal one as well. The law states that if the contractor provides services directly to pupils without the supervision of a certificated employee they need a fingerprint clearance card. If you or your organization have any questions regarding whether or not you are required to have a Fingerprint Clearance Card or about the type of background check that is performed please contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279.
Identity Verified Prints. What are they?
October 5th, 2011 by ArizonaLivescan
If you are at all familiar with the Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) issued by the Department of Public Safety (AZ) then you might have heard about Identity Verified Prints or IVPs. They are only for people applying for certification throug the AZ Department of Education, charter school instructors or tutors and teacher preparation programs (all mandated by legislation). It’s very important that IVPs be completed properly to avoid delays in your application. Once your application, fingerprint card (that’s where we come in) and your money order (made payable to DPS) are mailed into DPS they will begin a fingerprint-based background check. If your clearance is approved, you will be issued a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number on it. When your FCC expires in six years you will not need to send in a new set of fingerprints with your application for renewal. Arizona Livescan offers digital fingerprinting; AZ DPS processes the FCC Application and issues the FCC. Questions? Please call us at 602-246-3444.

I’m in a rush. How can I get my fingerprint clearance card ASAP?
September 1st, 2011 by ArizonaLivescan
Because fingerprint clearance cards are processed through AZ DPS we have no way to let you know (sorry); however, there may be a general time frame you can expect to get them back. The best way to know is to contact them directly to ask! They can be reached at 602-223-2279. Many of our customers come here already having their money order made out to DPS, get their fingerprints rolled by us (DPS does not offer this service) and then drive to the DPS Applicant office at 2320 N 20th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85005 to hand deliver their application packets. We charge $20 for fingeprinting. If you have the time, I do recommend hand delivering it. Why? Because there have been times when the mail was lost or the card was bent in the mail. It doesn’t happen often, but it is a concern. Also, our fingerprint technicians will review your fingerprints for accuracy. Rejected fingerprints will result in a delay of your fingerprint clearance card. Come to Arizona Livescan–Fingerprinting it’s all we do!

If you are applying for certification through the Arizona Department of Education (ARS 15-534), Charter School Instructor (ARS 15-183), and Tutors and Teacher Preparation Programs (ARS 15-534) you must apply for a Fingerprint Clearance Card requiring Identify Verified Prints. A separate application exists for this type of clearance and the form specifically states on the top of it: “Identity Verified Prints”. If you were never issued a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP Number on it you must submit Identity Verified Fingerprints with your application. Arizona Livescan can perform IVP Fingerprinting services for you or your school. Our Fingerprint Technicians are experienced in capturing the best possible fingerprints and filling out the form ensuring that all requirements are satisfied. If you have any questions please contact us at 602-246-3444.
Do you require Identity Verified Prints?
May 26th, 2011 by ArizonaLivescan
What are Identify Verified Prints and who needs them? Right now, if you are a teacher in the State of Arizona, you’ll need IVPs or Identity Verified Prints. IVPs differ from the regular application that you would use if, let’s say, you were in a nursing program. IVP application and the fingerprint cards, once completed, must be sent driectly to DPS in a blue, perpaid envelope. Most importantly, the fingerprint technician must acknowledge that the person’s identity has been checked, the money order is included and that the correct copy of the application is enclosed. We are fully prepared to assist you, your school or organization with all of your Identity-Verified Fingerprinting needs. We have the Fingerprinting Clearance Application packets available this includes the multi-part form Application, fingerprint card and prepaid and addressed envelope. Contact Arizona Livescan at 602-246-3444 for any questions you may have.
