DPS Fee for Fingerprint Clearance Card Reduced

March 19th, 2012 by ArizonaLivescan

As of March 19, 2012, the fee for a paid employee to obtain a fingerprint clearance card is now $67.00 (was $69).  The fee for volunteers has not changed. For further information contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Fingerprint Clearance Card Team at 602-223-2279.

Public and/or Charter School Contractor, Subcontractor of Vendor and their Employees must have Fingerprint Clearance Cards per ARS 15-512. If your organization falls under any Arizona Revised Statute requiring a Fingerprint Clearance Card then Arizona Livescan is your first step in the process. The Fingerprint Clearance Card background check process not only involves a state-level background check, but a federal one as well. The law states that if the contractor provides services directly to pupils without the supervision of a certificated employee they need a fingerprint clearance card. If you or your organization have any questions regarding whether or not you are required to have a Fingerprint Clearance Card or about the type of background check that is performed please contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279.

Identity Verified Prints. What are they?

October 5th, 2011 by ArizonaLivescan

If you are at all familiar with the Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) issued by the Department of Public Safety (AZ) then you might have heard about Identity Verified Prints or IVPs. They are only for people applying for certification throug the AZ Department of Education, charter school instructors or tutors and teacher preparation programs (all mandated by legislation). It’s very important that IVPs be completed properly to avoid delays in your application. Once your application, fingerprint card (that’s where we come in) and your money order (made payable to DPS) are mailed into DPS they will begin a fingerprint-based background check. If your clearance is approved, you will be issued a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number on it. When your FCC expires in six years you will not need to send in a new set of fingerprints with your application for renewal. Arizona Livescan offers digital fingerprinting; AZ DPS processes the FCC Application and issues the FCC. Questions? Please call us at 602-246-3444.

AZ DPS and Livescan Fingerprinting

Although AZ DPS is not yet equipped to receive Livescan Fingerprinting uploads from private collections agencies, we utilize the Livescan technology to collect the best possible fingerprint images and apply them to standard FBI FD-258  fingerprint cards using an FBI-Certified printer. This fingerprint collection process allows us to capture the best images of your fingerprints thereby avoiding delays and missed deadlines for returned prints.
